With an aim to foster aesthetic understanding of the technique of theatre arts and its diverse dimensions with the community, culture and society Valley of Words International Literature and Art Festival in association with Young Indians Dehradun Chapter introduces a new vertical Iti Natya Theatre Competition for school going students.

With India in the 75th year of independence, Iti Natya celebrates Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and has selected *INDIA @75 as its theme. The competition envisages issue-based plays relevant to India after Independence.

Schools in Dehradun have been invited to participate in Iti Natya VoW 2022 theatre competition. Students aged 13 years and above are invited to perform in a one act play for the duration of 30 to 40 minutes in any of the three languages English/ Hindi/Sanskrit on the theme India@75.

The schools will perform at a common venue decided by the organizers and will be judged by an eminent jury. The schools will be judged on selection of play vis a vis the theme, play production (method, performance, efficient use of stage space), Stage presentation(costume, props, appeal to the audience), dramatic achievement.

The best school will get to perform at the VoW Fest Finale in the second week of November which witnesses participation of best authors, critics, artists and luminaries from the national and international world of fiction and non-fiction.
