Very happy to share with the members here that I possess an autographed copy of Enchanted Frontiers which was discussed in one of the VOW sessions by Sanjoy Hazarika with Bijoya Sawian and this book is said to be a Rare book now. I had the author to autograph it in 1975 when the author Nari K Rustomji was the Chief Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya and I was a young Probationary Officer in SBI Shillong Branch. Rustomji, accessible as ever, promptly signed the book and I am now a proud possessor of this rare book and it was a subject of discussion 44 years later at VoW!

My heartfelt thanks to VOW for all that they did for the people of Dehradun and for me and Sunny’s amanat. Thank you for this litfest which ran so smoothly as it was very well organised by your team. It was a very enriching experience for my girls and me.
My girls and I had a wonderful, rich and very very happy fulfilling three days. Everyone who came to our room admired the paintings, talked to the girls, enjoyed their books and it was such an enriching experience for them yet again. Our room looked beautiful with their work.
They enjoyed themselves, ate very well, and basked in the admiration given to them. And I thank you for all this.
I too had fabulous three days attending some very thought provoking talks on important issues, on books, birds, dance, heard some lovely music and met my friends and interesting people. I was very happy.
The festival gets better and richer each year and what a great achievement for you…..to bring it to Dehradun so that it’s people can have this exposure all in one place and all free.
I loved the gesture of giving free apples, bananas and coffee to all.
With regards and all the very best wishes.

The festival was amazing on many counts. The sessions were well managed with the Volunteers doing a good job. The use of smartcards for food etc. was a gamechanger as it ensured less wastage and more customisation eventually also leading to reduced expenses. The idea of keeping apples and bananas was novel and positive. The discussions were qualitative. The name tags were jute made and I heard lot of people praising it.

This was my first time at the Valley of Words, especially in the capacity of an author. The event we all know as VoW went off without a hitch and was very well executed. I have to strongly commend the team that worked constantly behind the scenes, tirelessly and with a smile even in the face of odds that keep cropping up during such events.

Thank you team for organizing a wonderful event! We are already looking forward to 2020. The Festival was absolutely flawless..

This is to thank you for a wonderful experience at Valley of the Words. I heard the merry dance was full of fun. All my best wishes.
I would like to thank you for giving my girls of Sunny’s Amanat a platform to share their work in your Valley Of Words Literature and Arts festival at the Madhuban Hotel, which was so well organised and a success.
We were very happy to participate and everyone who came to see our exhibition really appreciated their paintings, poems and books. It was equally heartening to see the happy faces of the girls and their self esteem and confidence.
A very good and well publicized event.
It was wonderful being part of the Valley of Words festival. Enjoyed every moment in Dehradun. My sincere thanks to all the organisers.

I wish to really thank the VoW team for a superb event. Everything was just great. The content, the management, the structure. I offer my best wishes and blessings that you all continue to make the event shine. May it be established for what it is – a great lit fest – and be recognised as such nationally and in time globally.
Thank you all.

It was such a delight to sit with journalist and biographer Ashali Varma at the Third Edition of the Valley of Words Literary and Arts Festival recently to discuss my book, #ComeHometoYourself. I shared about my arrival in India 23 years ago, and the experience of my visit to Maa Ganga and the tears of truth that I shed upon our first meeting. I encouraged people to celebrate our wonderful Indian culture and heritage, and we also discussed Sanatan Dharma, the beautiful traditions and practices that guide us in our daily lives.
It was a beautiful morning! I look forward to Episode Four next year!
Such a conglomeration of great minds. A very enriching experience to say the least. Congratulations to the whole team on a successful start to the Valley of Words festival and looking forward to many more in the future.

I write with fond memories of VoW ’19 still fresh in my mind to convey my thanks and appreciation for hosting me in this festival and for your team’s organizational acumen in managing everything so well. These past three days in Dehradun were stimulating and enjoyable in equal measure. Kudos to all of you for so successfully organising VoW ’19.
It was a wonderful atmosphere and not just a collection of the usual “suspects” who move from one Lit Fest to another pedalling their books. The subjects were well chosen and the speakers held great interest. I am sure this event will grow from strength to strength.
Greetings and my warm thanks to my newly found friends and the dozens of volunteers who silently oiled the wheels of the VoW and kept it running smoothly.
It was a great beginning and I wish you every success in your future events.
Congratulations to you for having pulled off a magnum opus in a most memorable style. I must confess that the Fest exceeded my expectations, for which you and the team you picked up deserves rich praise. I must thank you for having given me an experience which was enriching and educative.
A job well done. You had put your heart and soul into it that was evident. Congratulations!

This year’s curation was excellent. Your volunteers were as marvellous as they always are. The Kala Kendra team joins me in thanking you for everything.

I felt attending all the sessions of the festival of literature. More than anything else, the sincerity of the effort came though in its magnificence. I can only say: appreciation, appreciation and appreciation.

Lt General Shokin Chauhan, Chairman Cease Fire Monitoring Group
Please accept my gratitude for the marvellous arrangements and indeed the extremely personal way by which your group of volunteers looked after me during the VoW festival. Since this was the first time I had attended such a festival I was indeed fascinated by the zeal, enthusiasm and hard work put in by the group of young volunteers.
Thank you so very much for organising this beautiful event. Please accept my deepest appreciation for this. What the Doonites took home from the fest is immeasurable….
A festival with great potential. The Valley of Words tag differentiates it from the proliferation of local festivals.
